Creative art groups for children Through age-appropriate art experiences with a variety of media, your child will learn the value of self-expression, build fine-motor, social, and expressive skills while learning the language of art. Tuition: $95 for 6 weeks (includes supplies) Session I: September 15 - October 24 Session 2: October 27 - December 1
Preschool (3-4 yrs) Tuesdays OR Wednesdays 1:00-1:45 K-1 (5-7 yrs) Tuesdays 3:00-4:00 Grades 1-3 (7-9 yrs.) Tuesdays 4:15-5:15 Open Studio for Teens (13-18) Small group for self-directed artists wanting to improve drawing, painting or design skills. Mini-workshop in stone-carving also available for additional supply fee. Begins October 27th. 8 weeks: $160 (includes most supplies; artist provides sketchbook and pencils). Mondays 4:30-5:45 Follow Your Art for Adults (18 and older) This class is being offered in conjunction with the Melrose Arts and Cultural Association (www.melrosearts.com). It is designed as an introduction to the artistic process for adults wanting to put creative self-expression into their everyday lives. We will explore a combination of two-dimensional and three-dimensional art media (oil and chalk pastels, acrylic and watercolor paint, collage, clay, mixed media) to find what suits you best. Basic instruction on material usage/properties, color theory, elements of design are taught as a means to enhance creative self-expression. Location: The Milano Senior Center, Melrose Tuition: $160 for 6 weeks, plus supplies. Thursdays November 6 - December 18, 7:00-9:00 pm
