To schedule individual art lessons or art therapy sessions, private groups, or professional development workshops, or to inquire about services for children with special needs, please contact info@follow-your-art.com. All classes listed here are held at 414 Main Street, Melrose.
Fall Session 1: Sept. 13 – Oct. 22, 2010 (no class Columbus Day, makeup Mon. Oct. 25)
Fall Session 2: Nov. 1st – Dec. 17 (excludes Monday Nov. 15th, Tues-Thurs. Nov.23-5)
For Creative Art Groups for Children, in case of absence or class cancellation, there will be a makeup class for all ages the weeks of October 25th and December 20th (date and time TBD).
Discounts available! If you are signing your child up for both fall sessions, deduct $25 from the total ($225). IF you are signing SIBLINGS up, deduct $25 for the second child. Any questions will be clarified with a confirmation email upon registration.

Creative art groups for children
Through age-appropriate art experiences with a variety of media, your child will learn the value of self-expression, build fine-motor, social, and expressive skills while learning the language of art. Please note classes need at least 3 registered participants to run. Tuition includes supplies, but bring a smock.

Sensory Discovery
A process-oriented art group for caregivers and toddlers together! Explore toddler-safe art materials perfect for sensory exploration and mess-making that is not in your home! Caregivers learn techniques for promoting creative development.
Tuition: $125 for six weeks (includes supplies)

Open Studio
For ages 9-17: Small, independent groups for self-directed artists wanting to improve drawing, painting, sculpture or design skills. Personal interests and abilities are assessed, personal instruction in specific media offered. Mini-workshop in stone-carving also available for additional supply fee.
Tuition for Ages 9-17: $125 for six weeks, includes supplies.
OPEN STUDIO FOR ADULTS: Thursdays, 7:30-9:30, $10 per night. Open studio originally began as an opportunity for anyone who has taken either the intro class or private sessions to keep an outlet for creative expression. Artists work independently but are supported by each other and the facilitator when desired. All are encouraged to bring personal supplies, though supplemental supplies are offered. Contact for additional information or to reserve a space (limited to 8 artists per night).
NEW BEGINNER OFFERING FOR OPEN STUDIO! If you are new to FYA you can schedule a private/semi-private meeting on any Thursday night at 7:00 to get oriented to the studio and materials, discuss your interests, and get some beginning guidance. Cost is $30 which includes materials and open studio time. This is the easiest, low stress way to explore your creativity.

Follow Your Art for Adults
(18 and older, younger teens permitted accompanied with parent)
This class is designed as an introduction to the artistic process for adults wanting to put creative self-expression into their everyday lives. We will explore a combination of two-dimensional and three-dimensional art media (oil and chalk pastels, acrylic and watercolor paint, collage, clay, mixed media) to find what suits you best. Basic instruction on material usage/properties, color theory, elements of design are taught as a means to enhance creative self-expression.
Tuition: $200 for 6 weeks, most supplies included. Class is 2 hours (from 7:00-9:00). Tuition includes free access to Thursday night open studio hours for those six weeks.
