Hey, art gets you far when you need something to keep entertained during a Frankenstorm.

Fall II Session begins this week: If you haven’t submitted a registration form, you MUST do so to keep your child’s space in his or her group. There is still space available in most groups, so be sure to send in your form. There will be NO classes on Halloween! There WILL be classes on Election Day! There will be classes Thanksgiving week on MONDAY only! Okay no more badgering, ALL of this is on the website.

Also, now that the weather of the season is upon us, see website for weather policy. I will post by noon. If groups are cancelled due to weather tomorrow, then we will make it up on Veterans Day.

STEM Expo November 17th from 1-4 pm at MMS: This is a great event for the family, and we are kicking off a new community art project concept called “Creating Balance.” A larger community project will come this spring which will focus on caring for our community parks and creating public art. This is from the press release:

“Any sculpture, large or small, involves structural engineering and design principles to create balance and strength; within that lies beauty. We will build a tree sculpture that uses structural engineering to create balance in design, and uses only recycled materials to encourage balance in our environment,” Kristina Rodolico explained. “The piece will evolve based on the ideas of the participants.” Please bring paper towel and toilet paper rolls and old magazines to contribute to the structure. Come join us!

MAAV Mural donation: The candlelight vigil was this evening, and the remaining pieces of last years community mural were auctioned off to raise money for MAAV. Thank you again to all who participated in lending a hand for a good cause.

Scholarship Fund Update: We’re still working on creative ideas for funding scholarships to the studio for families with limited funds. Thursday night open studios will be donated to the Scholarship Fund. Also, if you know of a crafty teen who needs community service hours for HS credits, we will start making bookmarks to sell.
